Writers Prayer

Father,

I am so grateful for the truth You expressed in Your word. Your character is revealed and littered through scripture. Your presence saturates all of life itself. You’ve chosen to display Yourself in so many unique, glorious, and humble ways. You express Your majesty through creation, Your order in the natural laws that govern the universe, and yet You bound Your promises and character to the word.

With Your words, you established the world. You place great importance on not only your words but on humanity as well. The Proverb(18:21) states that “life and death are in the power of the tongue.” Lord, you’ve blessed me with the ability and passion for using words in a way that can inspire and encourage others. Christ used parables and metaphors to convey the truth of heavenly matters. I pray You can use me similarly to those followers who looked to administer truth through story. I’m eternally grateful for your faithful servants of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis.

I pray for guideance in expressing your truth through writing.

In Jesus name,

Amen
